The Next Steps: LSU Football Senior Night 2025

The stage was set for a special night in Tiger Stadium, “Death Valley,” come Saturday. Louisiana State University honored 28 football seniors as they took the home field for the final time as an LSU Tiger. It was Senior Night, and the team came in with a 6-4 overall record, preparing to face off against Western Kentucky. However, the stage was set for a memorable and emotional outing for fans, players, and coaches.

Notable Seniors, who are graduating, are fifth-year quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, six-year defensive lineman Jacobian Guillory, four-year wide receiver Chris Hilton Jr., four-year place kicker Damian Ramos, and four-year linebacker Harold Perkins Jr.

After coming off a thrilling win against rival Arkansas 22-23, the LSU Tigers have an opportunity to make the season more fulfilling. The Tigers have an opportunity to send their senior football players off with a final win at home.

Former ESPN Analyst Lee Corso picked LSU as his pick to win the national title, but the season will be far from that outcome. Despite this team having a coach fired, tough losses, and struggles on the field, senior night is all about the journey for players getting ready to take the next step in their lives.

For some, it will be the NFL, but there is a reality to why senior night can be emotional for other reasons.

Certain moments appear during senior night for the football player that are unforgettable. One of those moments happened to linebacker West Weeks. West got a chance to take the field with his brothers, junior linebacker Whit Weeks and freshman linebacker Zach Weeks. The moment marked the first time in program history that three brothers played a snap of football together on the same team and same side of the ball.

West Weeks also had an emotional and special message he gave to his fellow teammates, who will become the future of LSU Football.

“My message was, I’m a dude from Georgia. I grew up wanting to play college football at the highest level. LSU really led me to that dream, being able to come to a different state, come to something new I had no idea about, is literally a second home for me.”

LSU Interim Coach Frank Wilson has been part of the LSU coaching staff for 10 seasons, with separate tenures. His first stint with the team came between 2010-2015 under Former LSU head coach Les Miles and 2022-2025 under Former LSU Coach Brian Kelly.

Per LSU Athletics, Wilson was announced interim head coach back in October after Brian Kelly’s firing. He leads his team after an emotional win against the Arkansas Razorbacks.

LSU had a tradition of showing a video to the team on senior night, but Wilson decided to try something different this year.

“We did a little ordeal called from A Brother’s Heart, where those guys who have been here for a long time stood up in front of the team and talked about what it has meant to them over the last six years, Jacobian Guillory, five years, Garett Nussmeier, four years, Chris Hilton Jr., Harold Perkins, Damian Ramos.”

Wilson also made sure to emphasize how sincere it was to the younger players just beginning their journey.

“It was very much heartfelt, sincere, and it served in the capacity of motivation, just each one of those young men, giving their testimony.”

After an emotional night, LSU Seniors will leave happy after beating Western Kentucky 13-10. The Tigers are off to play their final regular-season game against the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman, Oklahoma, on November 22, 2025, at 2:30 P.M. CT
